Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage
A manual lymphatic technique with a Brazilian sculpting approach.
Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage is a specialised manual massage technique focused primarily on supporting lymphatic flow and encouraging the movement of excess fluid through the body.
Unlike traditional gentle Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), the Brazilian approach is typically more dynamic and incorporates rhythmic movements, targeted techniques and body sculpting manoeuvres. The aim is not simply to massage the body, but to work with the lymphatic system while creating the lighter, less puffy and more defined appearance that Brazilian lymphatic massage is known for.
At The Beauty Sculpt in Marylebone, every session is adapted to your body. I work predominantly with my hands, adjusting the technique, rhythm and pressure depending on the area and what your body needs that day.
Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage is not Wood Therapy
Although the two treatments are often shown together on social media, Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage and Colombian Wood Therapy (Maderoterapia) are two different techniques with different purposes.
Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage is primarily focused on lymphatic flow, fluid movement and reducing the appearance of puffiness, while Wood Therapy uses wooden tools more intensively for body sculpting, massage and the appearance of cellulite and skin texture.
I may occasionally incorporate selected wooden tools into a Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage session when appropriate, but the purpose is still drainage.
For example, certain smooth wooden tools can complement manual movements and help guide the treatment across specific areas. This is very different from performing a full Wood Therapy protocol. Wooden rollers and intensive Maderoterapia techniques are not what defines Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage.
The majority of your lymphatic treatment is performed manually, using my hands.
So, can they be combined?
Absolutely — and this is where I personalise the treatment.
For clients who want both lymphatic drainage and more targeted body sculpting, Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage and Colombian Wood Therapy can complement each other beautifully.
Rather than treating them as the same technique, I combine elements of each according to your body and your goals.
Lymphatic drainage when we want to drain.
Wood Therapy when we want to sculpt.
A personalised combination when we want both.
What can Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage be suitable for?
Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage may be chosen by clients experiencing fluid retention, puffiness or feelings of heaviness, as well as those who simply enjoy regular lymphatic treatments as part of their body-care routine.
The immediate visual effect can vary significantly from person to person because every body — and every level of fluid retention — is different.
